Primary/Elementary PE

Hello Kiddos...hope all is well and you are staying safe. Mrs. Schofield is thinking about each and every one of you, and hope you have some time for physical activity. Use your imaginations, play outside, or try something we have learned in the Gym at school.

One of the most important things you can do for you and your families mental health and physical health during this time is make sure you stay active and get at least 60 minutes of activity each day.

Check out some of the resources and some Follow Along Workout Channels on Youtube

HAVE FUN!

PE ACTIVITIES WITH LIMITED EQUIPMENT

SKILLS REVIEW

If you have any of the equipment below (frisbee, ball, jump rope, balloon etc), you can practice reviewing or working on any of the skills that we’ve learned in PE class this year.

  • Striking a Balloon (awesome activity for K-2nd Grade)
    • Blow up a balloon and practice striking it with different items in your house (or different body parts)
    • What is the hardest item or body part to control the balloon with?  What’s your record for the most number of hits without moving your feet?
    • Here’s an example of this balloon striking activity
  • 4 Square
    • If you have a playground ball and a garage or driveway you can play a game of 2 Square with a family member, draw a court with some chalk and check out this post if you don’t have the rules to play the game https://www.thepespecialist.com/foursquare/

MAY CHALLENGE UPDATE:

*staff total walking/run KM to date is 175.58!!!! Amazing.... keep it going!

Mrs Schofield - 42.5km

CHALLENGE DETAILS:

Starting May 1st until May 31st, I have challenged myself to run/walk a total of 185km this month (that’s 1km for each student at Esgenoopetitj School). I am also giving everyone a DISTANCE CHALLENGE! I challenge the students & staff of Esgenoopetitj School to run/walk 2019 km and the community of Esgenoopetitj to run/walk 2019 (20 is for the year and 19 is for Covid-19).

Walking, hiking, running, it all counts. If you hike on a trail or walk on your lunch break at work....it ALL count!  Add it to your total. Track your distance using a Fitbit, iPhone, google maps, etc..... it’s easy!

Please submit your results to my email when complete, sue.schofield@nbed.nb.ca/ post pictures on the Facebook site, have fun with this. Walk with your family and HAVE FUN!

Good luck and I will keep you posted
