Earth Hour 2015

Posted: March 26, 2015

Earth Hour 2015:Date: Saturday, March 28, 2015.Time: 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. What do you plan to do for one hour without power?!! :) Make it creative!
Hey Kids and Parents! Don't forget that Earth Hour happens this weekend!! What is Earth Hour?! Earth Hour is when as many people in the world, globally, take part in a 1 Hour POWER OFF event! It begins at 8:30 and ends at 9:30 wherever you are in the world! You shut your laptops off, your televisions, computers, video games... every electronic equipment or small appliance, shut it down AND your house lights! Try to be creative in your ideas about what you can do to have fun in the dark! Maybe plan an hour of star gazing out on your porches with your families, spending time together if the weather's good at 8:30 p.m. hang outside and count the constellations! Go play in the snow, weather permitting of course, if not, find some neat indoor activities you can do without the use of power for JUST one hour! When everybody participates globally, they are able to record the amount of cooling down that happens throughout every place! Remember your xbox takes up 90 watts in 3 hours of usage, so in one hour, you are using 30 watts of power JUST from your xbox console!! That's a lot of power if 900 users are gaming across the world at once!! I hope that many people participate in Earth Hour 2015!! I hope to hear many awesome stories on Monday, March 30, about what you did for one hour instead of using power! Keep it creative! Have fun and help save Mother Earth!! :)  http://www.earthhour.org
