STEAM GRADES K-2 ISSUE

ABCs in the World Around You!

Find and take pictures of the letters of the alphabet in the great outdoors.

Then put your pictures together to make an alphabet book.

Send it to your teacher at gloria.matchett@nbed.nb.ca.

I'll be watching for your findings!

Hello everyone and hello JUNE!

This recent covid-19 outbreak on our north shore has reminded us how quickly it can happen. Please stay home in Esgenoopetitj and stay safe! Remember physical distancing of six feet, frequent hand washing, and wear a mask if you're not able to stay six feet apart. I miss each of my grade twos and I want your families to be cautious and safe.

This week's Home Learning Plan has opportunities to build your own inuksuk using lego or household items or rocks (maybe at the beach?) You can try a new card game called "Slap Jack". Study some "er, ir, ur spelling words online and do a test on Friday. Practice adding and subtracting 2-digit numbers. Have some one help you make a video or take some pictures using a tablet or a phone. Send them to me on messenger or email me at gloria.matchett@nbed.nb.ca. Have a fun week of learning!

Another week has come and gone!

I hope everyone is trying to keep up with some learn at home fun activities, This week's learning plan includes the LIFE CYCLE OF A BUTTERFY and some new SPELLING words, and some more GEOMETRY learning in MATH.

I'd love to see your Butterfly life cycle posters. Take some pictures of you doing some home learning and send them to me on messenger or email them to me at gmatchett1@hotmail.com!

Have a nice week and get outside to enjoy the hot weather ..... maybe some beach pictures to share?

Here is this week's learning at home plan.

Read a book on RazKids every day. I have some websites and ideas for a project about the LIFE CYCLE OF A FROG. The frogs are croaking and peeping loudly near my house every night!

Some Geometry practice for Math this week too.

I hope everyone is staying home as much as possible. I really miss you!

It's time for you to check out this week's learning at home plan. RazKids and Rivet have some amazing online books to read. If a book is not a good fit book, just try a level lower. If it's too easy, try a level higher. I hope you have fun with the Math games Subtracting in a Cup and Addition War. Make time to dance with the Quarantine Kids and GoNoodle and of course BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER too. I miss all of my kids and I hope you are all staying home and staying safe!
